Best NATURAL Weed Killer For Our Homes.

Updated: Jan 29, 2023

Personally I don't use toxic chemicals on my land as I want to live as organically as possible. Over the last 100 years we've seen a decline in our health as humans and I personally agree with the independent studies proving that they cause cancer, hormonal changes, mental health issues, chemical imbalances and not to mention soil degradation killing off nutrients and our beloved bees. Cause and effect can be seen from a macro level looking from the outside in. What has changed in the last 100 years?

Industrial revolution has made so much stuff easy. Farming with big machines and chemicals to ensure they aren't lost from bugs or pests. Which leaches into the ground and water ways. Where the food grown is processed into our food on the grocery stores. Ultimately we live in a chemical soup so avoiding it as much as I can is always a goal in our household.

So here is what we love using on areas where we don't grow food like our unpaved laneway, patio stones or walking ways.

Mixture

  • 50/50 split of vinegar water mixture in a garden spray bottle.

  • Vinegar should be greater than 5%

  • 1tbsp of liquid soap. This helps keep the solution sticking to the weed vs just washing off.

Spray directly to the weed trying to avoid any grass as it too will be killed. The best time to use this is during the day FULL sunlight and no rain in the schedule. You'll see by the next day the dead weeds. If you have any pesky weeds do a 2nd application the next day for a double whammy.

Have any questions feel free to reach out I'm happy to help as permaculture or eco tips are a passion of mine along side real estate.
