Want To Be An Entrepreneur & Not Sure Where To Start?



Don't worry you're not alone many people have NO CLUE where to start when it comes to entrepreneurship. Many think you need to have lots of money, or a brilliant & unique idea, or even lots of time. All of these are myths. Here are my top 5 tips for becoming an entrepreneur because I know from personal experience entrepreneurship can be amazing!!!


I became an entrepreneur a decade ago and even though I was scared out of my wits, I decided I was DONE having someone tell me what I was worth and only having 2 weeks vacation a year. The funny part was I never thought of becoming an entrepreneur until the company I worked for got bought out by another company and started to lay off people all over the company. I naturally went home and cried for a few days wondering why me, what happened and what am I going to do. My boyfriend at the time (now my husband) and I were in over $90,000 worth of debt and had no plan on getting out of this anytime soon.


I had some decisions to make.....

a) I can't get into business for myself because I'm so far in debt, it will take years to pay off.

b) I have to get into business for myself because I'm so far in debt, it will take years to pay off.

This may sound familiar to many of you, from having no money to no time, to having kids that need our attention ETC. We all have things on our plates but you can either have excuses or results but you CAN'T have both.


Here are some top tips for becoming an entrepreneur, even if you don't know where to start.


1) Take A Stand -Claim Your Current Position.

This is very important to recognize where you currently are and what you are NOT happy with. If you are not happy with were you currently are then admit that no one can fix this except you. The blame game does no-one any good. You are where you currently are because of the decisions YOU'VE made up until this point. It's not because of your boss, or spouse, or kids, it's because of YOU and YOUR choices. Change will only occur when you make a conscious decision to make it happen!


2) Identify The Right Business Model For You.

This is where most people go wrong when it comes to entrepreneurship. They don't evaluate what they like vs. dislike, what skills they currently have, what sills they will need for there business, what they are willing or not willing to do, or even what there END goals are in business. If your end goal is to have a massive empire you can hand down to your children then you'r business choices and goals will be different if your end goal is to be time and financially free. Understanding your end goals in life will guide you to which business model is right for you.

Traditional Business: Open business model you can do absolutely anything, low-medium investment, high level of time & financial commitment, high risk.

Franchise Business: Proven business model, medium -high buy in, can choose your industry you desire, low-medium risk based on the franchise, location starting and demographic of potential customers. Medium -high revenue based on industry also location based success generally, want more revenue will need to open up multiple franchises.

Micro-Franchise / Umbrella Business: Proven business model, low buy in, can choose your industry, low risk, high revenue potential as many business models involve online revenue.

3) Commit & Don't Quit -Think Longterm Success.

GET RICH QUICK DOES NOT EXIST UNLESS IT'S ILLEGAL. Regardless of the business model you'll generally have to commit to 3-5 years of hard consistent work without a regular income. REGULAR INCOME is found at a job immediately, Regular income found in a business comes after a few years of sweat equity built up. A business should be viewed as farming. You can't plant a seed and expect a bountiful crop immediately. You'll have to water, tend to the crop and nurture it before it's ready to pick.

4) Get A Support Network.

It's not always our friends, family or spouses that become our support network. If you have a supportive family EXCELLENT that's 1/2 the battle but just because you don't doesn't mean that you should give up on your freedom lifestyle journey. Create your own support network of other entrepreneurs going through the same things as you. I promise you if you do not have a strong support network to help you on your down side of the emotional roller coaster then you'll 100% quit on your dreams.

5) Tell The World.

You can't be shy about sharing your business with people. The only way to build a business of ANY business model is to get to know people all over and help solve there issues with what you have to offer. Don't worry if you are shy, or hate sales, or hate talking to people if your desire to succeed is greater than your fear or hatred of those skill you can succeed. I went from a very shy & quiet vet tech to a wildly successful entrepreneur and I would of never been able to accomplish what I have if it wasn't for facing my fears.
