7 Steps To More Confidence.

This photo of me mean's a lot to me.

This is a reminder to me of the long journey I've been on. Less than a decade ago I was a shy, quiet and insecure woman that was laid off from her career as a veterinary technician. I wasn't sure where I was headed but I knew I never wanted to make $12/hr for life or be laid off from a job ever again. This lead me on a tough journey that ultimately had this shy girl who was terrified of talking to 2 people into the woman in this photo speaking on stage in-front of 20,000 people.

The moral of this story is confidence isn't a birth right it is a learned skill and I hope these 7 tips inspire you to go out and harness your inner confidence god or goddess.

Here are my tips for building confidence in yourself and your business. These changes will happen over time NOT over night like anything you need to go through the four stages of competency before your a master of a skill.

  1. Fake It Till You Make It This was my favourite line I repeated in my head over and over. "You go this Kristy, fake it till you make it" I actually believed that one day I would actually be where I thought I would be and I did!

  2. Partner Up. Find a confidence partner and network with them. Do what they do and eventually you'll have the skills they demonstrate.

  3. Dress The Part When you dress well, you'll feel well then you'll act with better posture and confidence. I have yet to meet a woman that's had their hair done and not feel like a bad ass!

  4. Think Positively Mindset is key when it comes to building confidence. Use confidence building words like. I got this, I am the best at what I do, I know more then they do which makes me the expert, ETC.

  5. Take Action You can't build confidence from the comfort of your couch. You have to go out and network, meet people and learn how to start a conversation with a stranger.

  6. Have Energy Energy and excitement is contagious, THIS I KNOW! People tend to gravitate towards positivity and fun environments. If your always monotone and complaining you won't be attracting much.

  7. Practice Guess what friends, practice does make perfect and you can't practice is you don't try!

I hope these 7 tips are put into place and help you build confidence so you can master your own craft!

PPS: Yes there will be grammatical and spelling errors in this article. It doesn't mean that I don’t care it means I'm being authentic to who I am. I’m not perfect nor do I claim to be, I am sharing knowledge and if I was to worry over every little detail making things perfect & grammatically correct nothing would get accomplished.
