One of my favourite things to do is explore small towns. Check out the local shops and taste any local restaurant. These are some of my favourite ones to visit.

  1. Almonte: This charming town is known for its picturesque main street, filled with unique shops and restaurants. It's also home to the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, which offers a glimpse into the region's textile history.

  2. Merrickville: This small village is known for its well-preserved 19th-century architecture and its many art galleries, shops and restaurants. It's also home to the historic Rideau Canal, which is a popular spot for boating and fishing.

  3. Perth: This historic town is located on the Tay River and is known for its Victorian-era architecture and charming main street. It's also home to a number of annual festivals and events, including the Perth Fair and the Stewart Park Festival.

  4. Westport: This small village is located on the Rideau Lakes and is known for its scenic views and recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing and hiking. It's also home to several annual events, such as the Westport Heritage Festival and the Westport Farmers' Market.

  5. Manotick: This village is located on the Rideau River and is known for its picturesque main street, filled with unique shops and restaurants. It's also home to the Watson's Mill, a restored 19th-century grist mill that is now a museum and event venue.

Happy exploring I hope you will visit them too!
